My friend who is a native of New Orleans vouches for Cheeky Sandwiches, a New Orleans themed sandwich shop in the LES. He said that their poboy sandwich is very authentic and reminiscent of the poboys from back home. On my first (and certainly not last) trip to Cheeky Sandwiches, I devoured the “chicken” sandwich which was basically everything I love in one: a very flavorful and well seasoned biscuit filled with fried chicken, cole slaw and gravy. it was finger lickin’ good! He split the oyster poboy with me and I have to say that though it was very tasty. The menu is very small and simple but straight to the point. 35 Orchard St., NYC.
